   "Every Dollar Helps"

  • Harbor served 2,971 women and children who were victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault

  • Smithfield Rescue Mission served 198 hungry, homeless, and hurting men.

  • Council on Aging delivered 52,807 hot meal for homebound older adults.

  • Day By Day helped 358 substance and alcohol abuse patients through residential treatment, intensive outpatient and aftercare programs.

  • Community Action helped over 3,124 people with crisis needs such as rent, food, utilities, and medical expenses.

  • Girl Scouts served over 1,400 girls  through scouting programs

  • Boy Scouts, through scouting programs, served over 3,875 boys

  • Contact received 2,529 calls and made 5,096 reassurance calls.

  • Salvation Army-over 23,506 people were assisted with food and toys for Christmas and Thanksgiving and other regular year around assistance.

  • Mental Health Association in Johnston County helped 850 people through Operation Santa Claus and Adopt-A-Family plus many other special services and training.

  • Legal Service of NC served over 279 low income individuals who needed legal help.

  • Red Cross helped with Single Family Disaster, offered Health Services, First Aid Stations, Blood Services, Health presentations, and Health Fairs.

  • Senior Games helped over 575 Senior adults participate in athletic events including Silver Arts and Health Promotions.

  • JC Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention served 17 expecting teen moms and teen parents and Educational Services to youth.

  • JC Youth Services helped 82 at risk youth who are involved in the Juvenile Justice System or are exhibiting behaviors that have been found to lead to such involvement.

  • JC Home Care & Hospice helped 75 ill-ridden patients with the highest quality hospice care.

  • Boys and Girls Clubs of Johnston County (a new United Way Agency) served 148 boys and girls in their after school and summer programs.
